Bernardo's
Located right on the beach in town, Bernardo's is a favorite hang out for the locals. A great place to catch the game on satellite t.v. or some dancing on Saturday night. If the fish are biting Steve prepares some fantastic specials. They also have very reasonable prices.
Iguanazul
Without question the place to be for sunset. The restaurant serves both American traditional as well as Costa Rican cuisine. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you just want a snack as the sun sets, have the nachos and a cold Pilsen cervesa.
La Puesta Sol
Italian Food served with flare. They use fresh ingredients to make traditional Italian favorites. The real fun is in the show the owner puts on when going over the menu and specials. Dinner here can run on the expensive side.
The Hibiscus
German Food - Drop by during the day and let the operator Rainer know you would like to come for dinner. He will then prepare a multi coarse gourmet meal served family style. Go by early as he will typically serve only ten people per evening.
Tatanka
Pizza- Sometimes you just want something quick and casual. Tatanka serves wood-fired oven pizzas as well as Costa Rican food. This is a great place to take the kids.
Playa Negra Restaurant
Outdoor dining at one of the best surf spots in Costa Rica. The restaurant sits atop a grass covered knoll overlooking the beach. After a surf session try the Gallo Pinto, a traditional meal consisting of two fried eggs served with a mix of black beans and rice. They also make refreshing fresh fruit smoothies.
Lola's at Avellanas
Located right on the beach at Avellanas. Lola's serves excellent ceviche, as well as a Pesto Pizza that is a personal favorite. If your wondering where everyone went on a Sunday, they are at Lola's.
Pablo Picasso's
Where else do you go for a burger as big as your Head? They also serve sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit and other American favorites. A great place to stop after a long surf session at Playa Negra.
