HORSEBACK RIDING

Guanacaste, which is known for its cattle ranches has a long tradition of Horseback riding.  It is truly one of the best ways to see the back country.  It will allow you to go to areas simply not accessible on foot.  If you would like to go, call Alice or Bernie at the Guacamaya restaurant.

KAYAKING

Kayaking in Playa Junquillal's estuary is a great way to spend the day.  Glide along the water as you spot monkeys, exotic birds, and iguanas in the Mangrove lined shore.  It is also a great way to get in some fresh water angeling.  Ocean going kayaks are available to rent.  Please inquire in town.

DAY TRIPS

There are some fantastic adventures to be had within a short drive of Casa Mira Mar.  Hiking in one of the nearby National Parks is a great way to spend the day.  To the North you will find Santa Rosa, and Rincon de la Vieja National Parks.  To the East you will find Palo Verde, and Barro Hando National Parks.  Many of the parks have canopy tours, zip lines, natural hot springs, mountain biking, white water rafting,  snorkeling and diving.

If all this sounds like too much work, take a trip North to Tamarindo for lunch and shopping.  If you desire a more culturally authentic experience try visiting Santa Cruz.  Santa Cruz is a typical tico town and a great way to mix with the locals.
